My T22 will not turn on

If your Tramigo T22 will not turn on, please make sure that you have pressed the power switch for at least 2 seconds. Alternatively there may be no battery installed. A battery is required to power the unit even when connected to a power source. If the battery is present, it may need recharging. If battery is completely discharged then the lights will not turn on for 1.5 hours.

If the above does not work then remove the battery and re-insert it.

I am unable to get my first location for more than 30 minutes, what could be the problem?

  1. There should be no nearby tall buildings or houses.
  2. Antenna signal will not pass through metallic or magic type tint.
  3. Vehicle should not be moving when trying to get your first fix.
  4. Units should not be placed or covered behind metal objects.
  5. Acquiring of your first location should take only 3 to 15 mins with a good GPS signal in the area. Should the acquiring of signal take so long simply remove the unit from its power source then power it back again this re-starts the search process.

My T22 will not respond to SMS

If the GSM light is solid red

  • There may be no GSM signal. If so then check with a mobile phone to see if there is a signal in the area or try to call the unit to see if you receive a ringtone.
  • There may be no SIM card installed.
  • The SIM card may have expired.
  • The SIM card may have a PIN code set. Remove the PIN code by inserting the SIM in a phone and deleting the code.
  • The SIM card may be warped or damaged. Try another SIM card to see if that will work.
  • Roaming may not be enabled. If you are in a different country your SIM account must have roaming enabled.
  • The battery may be low. Recharging the unit for a minimum of 5 minutes will enable the GSM to start working.
The unit could be sleeping

Wait for unit to wake up or activate the motion detector.

The user may not be authorised

Check that the user's telephone number is added to the User List.

The user may not have a high enough authority for the command

Check the User's authority with the LISTUSER command. The T22 unit will not respond to any unauthorised commands.

If none of the above works then remove the battery and re-insert it.

GSM light is flashing

T22 is trying to send a SMS but having a problem

  • There may be no GSM Signal. Check with a mobile phone to see if there is a signal in the area or try to call the unit to see if you receive a ring tone.
  • The network may be busy. Wait a few minutes for the message to get through.
  • The account balance on the sim card may be at zero. Add credit to the account. Unit will recover on its own or you may send BOOT command to quickly recover.
  • The phone number in the user list may be incorrect.

The GPS light is on

This would indicate that the T22 does not have a current location.

  • The unit may not have a clear view of the sky. Move the unit to a location where the sky is visible. Tall buildings, trees, heavy rain, car tinting, can cause problems with the GPS reception.
  • Car window tinting may be blocking the signal. Move the unit outside the vehicle – if the light goes off then the tinting is blocking the signal. Either change the tinting in the windshield or install the optional external GPS antenna outside the vehicle.
  • The T22 unit may have been moved a large distance without a location fix. For example: on a flight. Remove and re-insert the battery to reset the location.
